Viewed: Hubert de Givenchy 1987

Hubert de Givenchy was known for his skill with luxurious fabrics.  You can't mention little black dress without paying homage to Givenchy.  He was famously known for designing most of Audrey Hepburn's wardrobe in her professional and personal collection.  Here is a 1987 lace evening dress with sequins, silk faille with velvet ruched satin ribbons.

Viewed:Chanel Pre Fall 2013


Who doesn't love Chanel?  Karl Lagerfeld orchestrated another inspiring fashion moment in history.  Tartan plaids,kilts,lace, tweed and argyle dominated the runway during the showing of  his Pre Fall 2013 collection.  The collection had a vintage feel of Chanel's classic persona ,original proportions with Scottish traditions. Karl's Parisian edgy influence didn't go unnoticed.  Lagerfeld has been the head creative designer at Chanel since 1983 and his collections are always consistent and visually stimulating.  The creative genius always pushes the envelope. Sparkle - Costume Designer Ruth E. Carter


The remake of the 1976 movie classic "Sparkle", hits theaters this weekend.  The film which stars, Jordin Sparks, Whitney Houston, and Mike Epps - is set in the 1960's.  Ruth E. Carter acts as the costume designer for the 2012 version of the film. 


Ms. Carter is an Oscar nominated costume designer with period films such as: The Five Heartbeats, Amistad, Rosewood, and Malcolm X; on her extensive film and theater resume.  She was heavily influenced by the 60's style of Twiggy and Donyale Luna when drawing inspiration for the characters of Delores and Sister, respectively.
